While there are Texas laws against child abuse, it’s legal in all 50 states for parents to physically discipline their children. Many adults who were physically disciplined as children still consider it OK to do so. When it comes to the use of corporal punishment, there is an ongoing debate on whether or not spanking and hitting a child is an acceptable form of parenting.
